Druid healer, caster or melee: which professions suit you best

Druid healer, caster or melee: which professions suit you best

•Professions•Brendo Arruda

Why do generic choices work so poorly in Druid?

Because the class does a lot of different things. What is excellent for a Balance may be just average for Feral. What's great for Restoration may not be the best decision if the character lives in Cat Form.

Druid rewards choices aligned with the predominant role.

Ideal professions for each Druid role

Healer

  • Engineering
  • Tailoring
  • Jewelcrafting -Alchemy
  • Enchanting

Caster

  • Engineering
  • Tailoring
  • Jewelcrafting
  • Enchanting

Melee

  • Engineering
  • Jewelcrafting -Blacksmithing
  • Leatherworking in some setups
  • Mining in more practical contexts for tanking

How to avoid generic choices that don't scale

1. Define your dominant role

2. See if the profession provides the right type of bonus

3. Don’t choose by “class” but by function

4. Think about how much you actually change specs

5. Avoid copying recommendations from another tree

Synergies by play style

I want to heal and have comfort

Alchemy, Tailoring and JC rise a lot.

I want a competitive caster

Engineering + Tailoring or Engineering + JC.

I want strong melee

Engineering + JC or Engineering + BS.

I want total versatility

Engineering + JC remains very safe.

Cost-benefit per function

Healer/caster

Tailoring usually pays off very well.

Melee

BS and JC tend to climb better.

Feral Tank

Mining can still be defended, depending on the focus.

Casual player

Alchemy remains an excellent balance option.

Checklist to decide safely

  1. Is my Druid more of a healer, caster or melee?
  2. Will I change roles frequently?
  3. do I want a competitive ceiling or balance?
  4. can I play the strong duo now?
  5. Does this profession really improve my role?

Minimum recommendation

For Druid:

  • healer and caster combine more with Engineering, Tailoring, JC, Enchanting and Alchemy
  • melee suits Engineering, JC and BS
  • player who alternates a lot does better with more versatile professions

In Druid, a good profession is one that accompanies your main way of playing — not one that tries to please everyone at the same time.
