Why does JC look so expensive?
Why many people move up the profession:
- out of stock
- no route
- without deciding what to prospect
- purchasing any material at any price
When this happens, the profession seems worse than it really is.
1. Progression through recipes with better returns
The good logic of Jewelcrafting is:
- use recipes that make good use of your range
- avoid “beautiful” but inefficient craft
- change stages when skill gains actually drop
- keep progression flowing without unnecessary cost spikes
You don't need the perfect route. You need a route that makes sense for your budget.
2. How to take advantage of prospecting without waste
Prospecting only pays off well when:
- you already know what ore you are going to use
- understands the value of the gems that come out
- do not enter the process thinking that everything will make a profit
- separates progression material and sales material
The classic mistake is prospecting without a plan and then discovering that the result didn't close the account.
3. Relationship between gem cost and skill advancement
Skill advancement needs to be read together with:
- cost of ore
- value of what comes out in the prospect
- usefulness of the final craft
- current phase of the profession
Sometimes the “cheapest” recipe is not the most efficient. Sometimes the “most efficient” recipe is not the one you can sustain.
4. Mistakes that make the journey of the profession more expensive
- buy ore at a bad time
- aimless prospecting
- crafting bad items just on impulse
- ignore Mining as support
- changing prescription too soon
- treating the profession as a sprint instead of a process
5. Efficiency-focused climbing plan
Step 1
define whether you will use Mining, AH or a mix of both
Step 2
come up with recipes that have good skill conversion
Step 3
prospect only what is necessary for the phase
Step 4
take advantage of surplus as economic value, not as clutter
Leveling checklist
- [ ] do I know which recipes have the best return now?
- [ ] Am I prospecting logically?
- [ ] Did I compare the cost of the ore with the value of what comes out?
- [ ] Am I buying material at a bad time?
- [ ] Is my progression efficient or just expensive?
Minimum recommendation
To efficiently level Jewelcrafting:
- have a material plan
- prospect with intent
- use recipes with a good return
- Don’t turn your profession into a pit of gold
JC is a guy when he improvises. When it goes up logically, it pays off much more.
