Why is First Aid one of the easiest professions to climb?
Because her logic is much more straightforward than most:
- you take cloth
- transforms into a bandage
- advances almost in a straight line
In WotLK Classic, Wowhead's overview makes this very clear: after 350, you learn Grand Master First Aid and basically level up with Frostweave Bandage and then Heavy Frostweave Bandage.
In other words: if you already gather cloth playing normally, the profession almost levels itself.
Most efficient craft sequence per track
The general idea is simple:
- use cloth from your current track
- only move on to the next one when the old craft actually stops yielding
- Do not burn higher value cloth too soon
On the Northrend stretch
- 350+: Frostweave Bandage
- 400+: Heavy Frostweave Bandage
The Heavy Frostweave Bandage requires 400 skill and the corresponding manual.
How to plan cloth usage by priority
First
use cloth that is already spare and occupies a bag/seat with no immediate function.
After
Keep cloth that may still have more selling or crafting value only if it actually pays more than the profession.
Rule of thumb
If the goal is just to cover First Aid with low rework, take advantage of what already came naturally from leveling, farming or dungeons.
Where to complete missing material
If cloth is missing, the best way is almost always:
- zones with humanoids of the right tier
- dungeons where cloth drops in good volume
- times when the AH price is reasonable
The important thing is not to turn a cheap profession into an expensive project out of anxiety about closing everything on the same day.
Errors that increase costs unnecessarily
1. Craft too early with more valuable cloth
2. Don't check if the recipe is still giving skill
3. Buy everything at AH at peak prices
4. Sell cloth and then buy it back
5. Ignoring the point where Frostweave starts to solve almost everything in WotLK
Direct plan for cap with low rework
- add cloth naturally until you have a reasonable volume
- climb with the correct sequence for your track
- when you reach 350, learn Grand Master
- use Frostweave up to 400
- get the manual and finish with Heavy Frostweave
This is the simplest and least dramatic path.
Minimum recommendation
To quickly level First Aid with leftover cloth:
- use the right bandage sequence
- Don't waste more valuable cloth early
- in Northrend, treat Frostweave as the axis of the profession
- buy material only when it makes sense
- close the cap carefully, not in a hurry
First Aid is one of the easiest professions to optimize because almost everything about it improves when you avoid improvisation.
