Knights of the Ebon Blade: mandatory or optional reputation?

•Reputations•Brendo Arruda

Ebon Blade is mandatory for some characters and perfectly skippable for others

This reputation tends to generate confusion because many people talk about it as if it were a universal priority. It is not. It weighs much more for certain classes and certain moments in the progression.

What she delivers in the endgame

The value of the Ebon Blade comes from practical early and transitional progression rewards. For some builds, this greatly speeds up entry into higher content.

For which classes does it weigh more

It tends to have more value when it delivers a piece, enchant or purchase that is clearly good for melee, physical or characters that need to close a specific slot early.

When to prioritize the farm

Prioritize early if you already know there is strong buying there. If there is no clear gain for your character, it falls in line.

Cost-benefit per profile

  • serious progression: is valid when completing a real upgrade
  • casual: only pays off if it fits naturally with dungeon/tabard
  • alt: generally only if there is a very specific target

Checklist to decide

| Question | Yes or no | |---|---| | Is there a strong reward for my class? | | | Will I still farm heroics? | | | Does the tabard accelerate without extra effort? | | | Doesn't another reputation pay off for me now? | |

Minimum recommendation

  1. find out if your class really gains something important there
  2. use tabard on heroics if the answer is yes
  3. do not treat reputation as mandatory by tradition
  4. compare with Kirin Tor, Wyrmrest and Argent before locking the week
  5. Farm with purpose, not guild chat noise
