Orange, yellow, green and gray recipes: how this affects your leveling

•Professions•Brendo Arruda

Why does the color of the recipe matter so much?

Because it determines the real chance of skill advancement. If you ignore this, you tend to:

  • spend too much material
  • insist on bad recipe
  • climb slower
  • pay more

It's a technical detail that changes practice a lot.

1. What each color represents

Orange

It's almost always the safest route to skill up

Yellow

It still works well, but it requires more attention

Green

can be profitable, but it also starts to waste material

Gray

no longer useful for progression

2. Probability of skill gain per track

The most useful reading is:

  • orange = high reliability
  • yellow = good, but already in transition
  • green = situational
  • gray = closed

You don't need to memorize numbers. You need to understand the behavior.

3. When to insist on a prescription and when to change

It is worth insisting when:

  • the cost of the recipe is still great
  • the alternative is clearly worse
  • the track still pays off

It's worth changing when:

  • the cost per skill started to rise too much
  • progression lost consistency
  • the next recipe is already more efficient

4. How to avoid spending material on bad revenue

  1. Keep track of the step color
  2. compare cost per useful point
  3. Don't insist on green just out of laziness
  4. Cut out “comfortable” but expensive recipes

5. Simple strategy to maintain efficiency

  • orange while it's worth a lot
  • yellow with discretion
  • green only when the account closes
  • never gray as a leveling route

Efficiency checklist

  • [ ] do I know what color my prescription is in?
  • [ ] Is the cost per skill still worth it?
  • [ ] am I insisting out of habit?
  • [ ] Is there already a better recipe for the phase?
  • [ ] Is my profession rising with real efficiency?

Minimum recommendation

The color of the recipe affects its leveling because:

  1. changes the chance of advancement
  2. changes the total cost
  3. defines when the route is still valid

Cheap leveling almost always starts with understanding when to stop pushing.
