7 Mistakes That Make Your Death Knight Look Weaker Than It Really Is

7 Mistakes That Make Your Death Knight Look Weaker Than It Really Is

•Classes•Brendo Arruda

1. Lock runes and runic power

DK loses a lot of value when he enters a dead window unnecessarily. Overcap of runic power and stop rune are two constant leaks of performance.

2. Treat cooldown as panic button

This goes for offensive and defensive. Poorly used cooldown makes the character look weaker because he is always “almost useful”, never on the right peak.

3. Play with bad uptime

Walking too much, trading badly, or staying out of melee range destroys Frost, Unholy, and even Blood in group rhythm.

4. Ignore the weight of the weapon

In DK, bad weapon holds the character at a lower stage than he could be, even when execution is reasonable.

5. Copy gear and gems without context

Many people use final priority in fresh character, or follow the setup of another spec. The result is stuck DPS, inconsistent threat or worse sustain than it should.

6. Use grip, interrupt and utility poorly

You may hit well, but if you mess up pack, ignore important cast and never help the group, your DK seems smaller than it really is.

7. Choose the wrong spec for the moment

Frost, Unholy, and Blood shine for different reasons. The “strongest” spec of the final stage is not always the best for your gear and your routine right now.

Quick fix plan

Week 1

fix resource and uptime

Week 2

correct cooldown and position

Week 3

review weapon, caps, gems and charms

Week 4

review group utility and whether your spec makes sense

Minimum recommendation

Your DK looks weaker than it is when:

  1. the feature locks
  2. uptime drops
  3. the weapon delays
  4. gear is bent
  5. utility disappears

The good news is that almost all of this corrects quickly when you stop looking for a miracle and correct a foundation.
