What does Balance Druid need to “turn on” in the endgame?
Balance doesn't want any caster items. Want gear that puts together a coherent package:
- hitcap
- spell power
- rod
- great slots with good real value
In WotLK Classic, the overall Balance priority starts at 17% Hit, then Spell Power, then Haste and then the rest.
First items with the greatest impact for Balance
1. Weapon / off-hand or staff
Caster really feels this slot.
2. Trinkets
Right Trinket changes your presence in raid and dungeon a lot.
3. Great caster slots
Chest, legs, head and shoulders with good profile accelerate the spec.
4. Items that fix early hits
Sometimes the best upgrade is not the flashiest, but rather the one that completes the technical base.
Order of progression until endgame
- close hit cap
- get weapons and trinkets
- improve big slots
- enter incoming raids with a coherent set
- Refine Rod/Spell Power
- chase final BiS by stage
Balance greatly punishes the inverted route.
Stat priority per stage
Entry
- hit
- spell power
- rod
Middle of the progression
- keep hit
- increase spell power
- refine rod
Endgame
- optimize pieces per phase and relevant bonuses
The base needs to be right before refinement.
Common itemization errors in caster druid
1. Ignore early hit
2. Pursue rod without base spell power
3. Exchange strong piece for empty item level
4. Treat every caster item as “fits”
5. Forgetting that the spec changes a lot when the cap comes into place
Summary route to BiS
- hit cap first
- weapon/trinket
- big slots
- Refined haste and spell power
- tier/off-piece depending on the phase
- Final BiS by content
Balance becomes much stronger when the route to BiS is thought of as progression, and not as random piece hunting.

Arms Warrior: PvE progression route
Arms Warrior performs well in WotLK PvE when gear follows a clear route: respect caps, use phase upgrades and know when certain stats become worth more.

Blood DK isn't stable just from high HP. Early tank gear must cover defense, stamina and key slots for heroics and entry raids. See where to start.
