Group etiquette in dungeons and raids: what to do to always be invited

•Community•Brendo Arruda

What makes a player remembered in a positive way?

It's not always top DPS. Often, the most invited player is the one who:

  • arrive prepared
  • play fair
  • communicates without friction
  • does not create unnecessary problems
  • helps the run flow

In dungeons and raids, good reputation is a silent accelerator.

Coexistence practices that improve reputation

1. Arrive at least ready

Gear, spec, consumable, UI and content notion.

2. Respect the group rhythm

Not too slow, not too hasty.

3. Admitting error without theater

Error happens. Attitude towards error weighs more.

4. Help without appearing to own the truth

Useful advice wins group. Arrogant Tom loses.

5. Don't disappear mentally

Being present between pull, boss and basic organization already differentiates a lot.

How to report errors without creating friction

Say it like this:

  • direct
  • short
  • focused on what solves
  • no mockery

Avoid:

  • irony
  • humiliation
  • “I told you so”
  • generic accusation
  • transform wipe into ego dispute

The correct sentence is usually:

  • “let’s focus on X”
  • “hold cooldown here”
  • “this pack requires priority Y”
  • “next time do it like this”

Good communication reduces friction and increases future invitation.

Ideal pug posture and fixed group

In pug

Be more adaptable, more objective and less needy for validation.

In fixed group

Be consistent, reliable and easy to integrate.

In both cases, what helps is:

  • listen to call
  • fulfill your role
  • do not turn each run into a test of personality

Habits that make groups avoid players

1. Always arriving unprepared

2. Arguing too much over small things

3. Repeat error without adjusting

4. Act as if the group has an obligation to carry you

5. Blaming others every time

6. Talking a lot and delivering little

7. Disappear when the organization needs you

A lot of people don't get shunned because they play poorly. It is avoided because it is work.

Quick rules for good coexistence

  1. arrive ready
  2. listen to call
  3. communicate without drama
  4. respect each person’s loot, rhythm and role
  5. Don't bring the mood down
  6. Quickly adjust when you make a mistake
  7. Make your run feel lighter, not more tiring

Minimum recommendation

If you always want to be invited:

  1. be prepared
  2. Be easy to play along
  3. communicate maturely
  4. Treat error as correction, not as battle
  5. deliver stability before show

A good group invites back those who help the experience, not just those who appear at the top of the meter.
