Is your character ready for the next step? Checklist per phase

•Catch-up•Brendo Arruda

Why is a readiness check so important?

Because many people enter too early into:

  • dungeon above the base
  • inconsistent raid
  • comps that demand more than the character delivers
  • BiS farm when major upgrades are still missing

The result is always similar: a feeling of delay, heaviness in the group and progress that is slower than it should be.

Objective readiness indicators

You are ready for the next step when:

  • build and glyphs are correct
  • basic caps make sense
  • UI and execution are minimally stable
  • the biggest bottleneck from the previous phase has already been resolved
  • new content does not just depend on being uploaded

Readiness is not perfection. It's enough base.

Minimum requirements per content phase

Phase 1 — entry

  • spec defined
  • functional gear
  • first priority upgrades mapped

Phase 2 — catch-up content

  • more fragile slots fixed
  • currency entering
  • improving execution

Phase 3 — raid ready

  • coherent caps
  • weapon/trinkets in order
  • clear spec paper
  • lower chance of joining the raid as a weight

Phase 4 — highest progression

  • consolidated base
  • more specific upgrades
  • execution counts as much as gear

Signs that there is still a lack of foundation

  • item level even went up, but the character remains inconsistent
  • broken caps
  • confusing build
  • lack of sustain or control
  • every new stage seems like a big leap

These signs show that the problem is not a lack of courage. It's a lack of foundation.

Readiness evaluation errors

  1. trust only item level
  2. compare the character with the one in the final phase
  3. ignore execution and UI
  4. getting into high content without resolving the central bottleneck
  5. thinking that “surviving” already means being ready

Phase transition checklist

  • [ ] correct build/glyphs
  • [ ] minimum caps and stats in order
  • [ ] most critical slots resolved
  • [ ] Stable UI and rotation/running
  • [ ] role of the spec clear in the next content
  • [ ] biggest previous bottleneck no longer holds me back

Minimum recommendation

Your character is ready for the next step when:

  1. the current phase is no longer holding you back
  2. the next content has a real basis for working
  3. your entrance is no longer improvisational

Advancing at the right time speeds up progression. Moving forward too soon only increases fatigue.
