Guide to entering raids in Azeroth Legacy: from preparation to the first clear
What really matters before the first raid?
It's not having BiS. It's having a base.
Your character needs to arrive at the raid with:
- clear function
- coherent gear
- basic consumable
- useful addons
- notion of mechanics and group posture
Actual prerequisites before the first raid
- right build
- right glyphs
- basic caps respected
- Minimal enchants and gems
- 1–2 useful trinkets
- weapon or equivalent slot at decent level
What to prepare for gear, consumables and addons
Gear
functional basis, not perfection
Consumables
enough not to go raw in the attempt
Addons
the least that really helps:
- mechanic warning
- organized bar/interface
- clean cooldown and resource reading
How to choose between pug and guild at the beginning
Pug
good for learning the rhythm and gaining quick experience
Guild
best for consistent progression and less improvisation
In the beginning, the important thing is to join a group that suits your moment, not your dream of a final endgame.
Classic raid newbie mistakes
- enter without reviewing build
- use crooked gear
- ignore consumable
- not understanding the function of the spec itself
- die for greed
- think that “someone explains everything in the pull”
Readiness checklist before the first lockout
- Is my gear functional?
- Are my basic caps in order?
- Do I have consumables?
- Does the interface help more than it hinders?
- Do I know what my spec delivers to the group?
- do I at least understand the most obvious mechanics?
Minimum recommendation
To join raids without getting lost:
- assemble base, not costume
- arrive prepared
- choose carefully between pug and guild
- treat the first raid as serious learning
The first clear is much more likely when you enter with the character ready to contribute, and not just to watch.
