Holy Paladin PvP: build for arena

Holy Paladin PvP: build for arena

•Classes•Brendo Arruda

Why is Holy Paladin still so strong in the arena?

Because the spec offers:

  • great stability
  • excellent ability to survive
  • reliable healing
  • very strong utility in right comp

In WotLK PvP, Holy Paladin is one of the friendliest options to start with and one of the strongest to continue leveling up.

Talents for survival and usefulness in compositions

The build needs:

  1. Keep you alive during focus
  2. sustain comp on long trades
  3. reinforce utility instead of just throughput
  4. marry your partner and the bracket

In the arena, a good healer is not one who only heals a lot. It's what remains playable when the enemy forces everything on him.

Glyphs and build choices for intense trading

The best glyphs are those that:

  • improve your ability to continue healing under pressure
  • reinforce defensive windows
  • keep spec stable in long matches

“PvE comfort” glyph almost always loses value here.

Attribute priority for sustain and fast response

Holy PvP wants:

  • sufficient resilience -sustain
  • ability to respond quickly
  • base that keeps you alive long enough for the comp to play

If you enter too lightly, the experience becomes suffering. If it comes in too hard and without a response, it also loses value.

Positioning and management of defensive cooldowns

This is the part that most decides the game.

What to do

  • play in a safe position
  • do not give easy line of control
  • use cooldown early enough
  • survive without spending everything on the first scare

What to avoid

  • heal while standing in a bad position
  • rely too much on the kit itself
  • treat each exchange as a defensive all-in

Errors that leave the healer vulnerable in the arena

1. Relaxed positioning

2. Cooldown too late

3. Build as if it were PvE

4. Little resilience due to greed

5. Playing without coordinating defense with the team

Minimum recommendation

For Holy Paladin PvP:

  1. build the build to survive and respond
  2. use heavy trading glyphs, not PvE comfort glyphs
  3. prioritize sustain and resilience with balance
  4. treat position and cooldown as a central part of the build
  5. Play to stabilize your comp, not to appear “invincible”

Holy Paladin remains strong because it makes the arena feel more controllable when piloted well.
