Why does Priest crash so much when he spends bad emblems?
Because the class has very different specs: -Disc -Holy -Shadow
Each one values emblems, off-pieces and tier for different reasons. If you buy without purpose, you will improve little and delay the really critical slots.
Recommended purchase order with badges
Disc/Holy
- Really impactful weapon/trinket or healer slot
- Large slots that fix the assembly
- tier when the bonus and phase justify it
- Smaller details later
Shadow
- weapon/trinket and large caster slots
- pieces that keep hit and spell power well assembled
- tier when the bonus is clearly upgrade
- final refinement after
When to look for tier bonuses by spec
Discipline
It's worth it when the bonus fits in well with the spec's style and you're not sacrificing absurdly better slots for it.
Holy
It also needs phase reading. Closing a tier early is not always the best move.
Shadow
Tier bonuses grow a lot when the level and the rest of the gear already support switching.
The general rule is: strong tier is worth a lot; tier early and crooked, not always.
Off-set pieces that may be worth more
At Priest, some off-pieces gain enormous value when:
- have better stats for the spec
- help close rod/hit better
- are much higher than the tier available at that stage
The mistake is to treat tier as mandatory at every stage.
Most common prioritization errors
1. Buying a set too early
2. Ignore weapon/trinket
3. Copy the order from another spec
4. Spend in a small slot before fixing a large bottleneck
5. Not adapting the route to the server phase
Investment checklist by stage
Before spending badges, review:
- Is my biggest bottleneck a weapon, trinket, tier or off-piece?
- Does the tier bonus pay off now?
- Does the purchase improve my spec or just increase Ilvl?
- Is there a drop alternative nearby?
- Am I buying for my spec or automatic?
Priest progresses much better when emblem and tier enter at the right time, and not just at the first possible moment.
