What does Resto Druid need most at the beginning of the endgame?
Rest want:
- intellect
- enough rod
- consistent throughput
- good enough mana for long fight
- slots that make the kit flow
In WotLK Classic PvE, Resto's general priority revolves around Intellect and Haste very strongly, precisely because the spec wants sustain and response speed in the kit.
Gear base for early endgame
The healthiest structure is:
- Strong weapon/trinket
- great healer slots
- rod at comfortable level
- Stable intellect and throughput
- refine later with the rest of the set
Rest is much better when the build looks fluid and not “heavy”.
Priority stats by stage
Entry
- Intellect
- Rod
- Spell Power
Middle of the progression
- maintain fluidity
- sustain throughput
- avoid mana collapse
Endgame
- refine the set without losing the functional profile of the spec
The worst setup is the one that tries to solve everything with a single stat.
Order of upgrades for better sustain
- weapon
- trinkets
- big slots
- parts that make the rod comfortable
- tier/off-piece depending on the phase and bonus
Healers who leave their weapons and trinkets weak for too long suffer much more than they need to.
Gear errors that reduce performance
1. Too little rod for the kit
2. Focus only on raw throughput
3. Ignore intellect and sustain
4. Geear as if it were Holy Priest or Disc
5. Buying a tier too early without looking at the stage
Evolution checklist for Resto
- good weapon
- strong trinkets
- great healer slots
- Comfortable rod
- well-distributed intellect and throughput
- gear aligned to the spec style
- Long raid doesn't destroy your mana early
Resto Druid is much better when the gear is assembled for consistency and sustain, and not just for “healer numbers”.
