"Legends of Warcraft" series — Legends #3. The prehistory of Warcraft in order, from the creation of the universe to the last Guardian of Tirisfal. The episodes are listed in order at the end of the post.
After defeating the Old Gods, the Pantheon had to decide what to do with Azeroth. The world-soul inside the planet was still asleep, and waking it too early could kill it. The solution was to order the world: create guardians, imprison the elementals, shape the continents and leave everything ready for the world-soul to grow in peace. Once that was done, the titans left for the stars.
Why the titans didn't stay
The titans of the Pantheon were so huge that their physical presence alone could harm Azeroth's sleeping world-soul. That is why, even in the war against the Old Gods, they fought through servants and not in person.
The leader of the forging work was Khaz'goroth. He and the other titans created the titan-forged, beings of stone and metal made to obey the titans' will. They were the ones who defeated the Black Empire of the Old Gods.

The Keepers
To command the titan-forged, the Pantheon empowered some of them, the Keepers. Each one received a part of a titan's power. The most important were:
- Ra, the Highkeeper.
- Odyn, the leader of the warriors, who would later rule the vrykul.
- Tyr, the mightiest of the Keepers.
- Loken, tied to arcane magic.
- Mimiron, the inventor.
- Hodir, the lord of ice.
- Thorim, the lord of storms.
- Freya, the protector of life, chosen by Eonar.
- Archaedas, the keeper of stone.

The Ordering of Azeroth
With the Old Gods imprisoned beneath the surface, the Ordering began:
- The elementals were banished. The Elemental Lords, who had fought alongside the Old Gods, were locked away in a separate plane, the Elemental Plane.
- The land was shaped. The Keepers raised mountains, opened seas and gave shape to the only continent of the time, which the titan-forged called Kalimdor.
- The Well of Eternity was created. At the center of the continent appeared a lake of pure energy, linked to the world-soul. Millennia later, the night elf civilization would be born from it.
- Races were created. The titan-forged got company: the stone earthen, the mogu and the sea giants, each one in charge of caring for a part of the world.
The titans' facilities were scattered across the planet: Ulduar, in Northrend, Uldaman, in the Eastern Kingdoms, and Uldum, in southern Kalimdor.

The Pantheon's farewell
With the world organized and protected, the titans said goodbye to the titan-forged. They left for the stars to search for other world-souls that were still asleep, as they had done with Azeroth.
The Keepers were left with a mission that was simple to state and hard to fulfill: watch over the Old Gods and protect the world-soul until it awoke.
What went wrong afterward
The farewell looked like the end of a story. In fact, it was the beginning of several:
- The Old Gods were not dead. Imprisoned under the earth, they began to whisper to their own guardians. One of them, Yogg-Saron, was imprisoned beneath Ulduar.
- The titan-forged began to change. The corruption of the Old Gods, the Curse of Flesh, would turn stone into flesh. This is the origin of dwarves, gnomes and humans.
- The Pantheon would never return. While searching for other worlds, the Pantheon would face betrayal by one of its own. That is the subject of episode 12.
